IEEE IS2 2024 is committed to enabling opportunities for inclusion and participation in the conference by offering support to authors and artists of an accepted paper or musical submission. To be eligible, you will present your work in person at the symposium. Please submit an application for support even if you haven’t received a decision on your paper yet. Once the paper is accepted, you will receive a decision.
Travel and accommodation grants cover costs associated to flights and/or ground travel and housing during the symposium. Grants will be awarded based on need, generally in the form of reimbursement for expenses and on-site child care. Depending on availability of grant funds, we reserve the right to cover only part of your expenses. Reimbursement will occur upon presentation of receipts and proof of attendance at IEEE IS2 2024.
If you are a full-time student registered toward a Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. degree in engineering or a related field in a college or university AND a Student Member of IEEE ComSoc at the time of submitting the grant application, please identify this clearly in your application. You may be eligible for a ComSoc Student Travel Grant (CSTG) if you have not received a CSTG in the previous 12-month period.
All applicants must provide:
1. A letter (1 page maximum in PDF format only) stating:
- Title of your submission to IEEE IS2 2024
- Your affiliation
- Research interest
- A statement that you are not getting reimbursed elsewhere for costs the grant may cover
- Type of grant/support you require, with estimate of costs by type, e.g., travel, accommodation, child care (see 4), other
- IEEE and ComSoc Membership number, if applicable
2. Your CV, including province and country of citizenship and residency
3. For students, a valid and current registration/enrollment certificate
4. Please provide a short description detailing your needs: age of child(ren), languages spoken/understood, a tentative timetable for on-site child care, other relevant information. Please be as specific as possible. Cost estimate for on-site child care is not required.
