IEEE International Symposium on the Internet of Sounds
30 September – 2 October 2024 // Erlangen, Germany

Call for Symposium Music Performance/Installation

We are pleased to invite you to the 5th IEEE International Symposium on the Internet of Sounds (IEEE IS2 2024) in Erlangen, Germany.

The Internet of Sounds is an emerging research field at the intersection of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Sound and Music Computing. The aim is to bring together academia and industry to investigate and advance the development of Internet of Sounds technologies by using novel tools and processes. The event will consist of presentations, keynotes, panels, poster presentations, demonstrations, tutorials, music performances, installations, and satellite events.

We invite submissions that showcase the Internet of Sounds in performance and sound installations with a wireless or wired networking component, feature the use of smart musical instruments, and/or experiment with embedded audio devices or the Web Audio API. Proposed works should have a clear connection to the areas of interest outlined in the call for symposium papers, and the calls for workshops IEEE IWMM and IEEE IWNIA, and may relate to a technical paper or demo submission. We particularly invite pieces that last 5-12 minutes, however, shorter and longer performance proposals will be considered.

The symposium will take place 30 September to 2 October 2024 at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits and the International Audio Laboratories Erlangen, Germany.
